Thank you for taking the time to visit my website. I hope you find it interactive and easy to use. If you prefer to do all your business online, this site allows you to input a loan application, and get updates online. But, if you prefer a more personal touch, I am free and available to talk to you during regular business hours, and on evenings and weekends by appointment. Please feel free to call any time.
I am a Senior Loan Officer with Town and Country mortgage. I’ve been in the financial world of business for 20+ years, so that should give you some confidence in my ability to work with you. Lending guidelines have tightened in the last few years to hopefully avoid the kind of economic crisis we are currently experiencing. Hopefully that will change sometime in the not too distant future, but we have to work with what we have for now.
In addition to working in the mortgage lending business, I have also been recognized as a real estate and mortgage "expert" and am currently writing for Examiner.com. This opportunity allows me to post timely information, not just about rates and terms, and mortgages available, but about all the trends affecting the real estate and mortgage industries, and other information about the housing industry that might be of interest to you. To access my posts, please click my Portland site here , my national reporting site here, and or follow me on twitter.
I also send out emails almost daily to those on my mailing list to keep you up to date on news as it breaks, and daily fluctuations to rates and lender programs. I try to let you know what I know as quickly as possible.
As an independent mortgage loan officer, I have access to many lenders, and more loan programs than is usually available with a single bank. This allows me to explore all the options that are available to you. I will meet with you at your convenience (or if you prefer, we can do the entire process by phone, fax, email, and even snail mail.)
As your loan officer, here is what you can expect from me:
1. Our first conversation might be lengthy, as I try to collect as much information as possible to quote you the best type of financing, and best rates available, at that time, for your situation. Click here for a list of reasons why you might not qualify for the best rates you hear advertised.
2. Once you have a loan in process, I will be your single point of contact throughout the process. You will hear from me at least once a week, with updates on the status of your loan, even if there is nothing new to report.
3. You will receive a Good Faith Estimate of all anticipated closing costs; and other disclosure paperwork from me within 3 business days of the date of your loan application. On this estimate, I do tend to overestimate charges, rather than underestimate, so that you will not have unexpected unhappy news when it is time to close.
4. If any of the terms of your loan change, due to unforeseen circumstances, you will receive an updated Good Faith Estimate with those changes.
5. Once we lock your loan, you will receive notification from me, in writing, of the date and rate that was locked, and equally importantly, when that lock will expire.
6. If you call me, you should expect a return call within 24 hours at the most. In most cases, I will get back to you the same day you call, even if I don't have an answer to your question. (If for some reason, I am not available to take your call at any time, you will be given a contact person to help you while I am unavailable).
7. You are free to contact me during unconventional hours, though I may not be able to answer your questions during off normal business hours. I do ask that you keep those calls to a minimum though, and save your questions for more conventional hours.
8. I value your business and the opportunity to work with you. I will respect your privacy and follow all privacy guidelines for the mortgage and banking industry. Your personal information will never be disclosed to anyone that does not require it for the purposes of closing your loan.
9. If possible, I will be at your closing (signing) to ensure that what you and I both expect on your loan documents, is exactly what you see. I have found that when there are errors, (these errors do occur from time to time), if I am on hand, I can usually get those corrected on the spot, if I am there.
Rates are low right now, and housing prices are fantastic! This is a great time to buy property, or refinance a current loan. I’m looking forward to helping you through the process.
Warm Regards,
Shelby
